UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Extension and the Center for Beef Excellence will host “Bull Buying Decisions: Genetics and Structure for Herd Sires” on April 15 and 21 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
The workshops will take place at two locations: Trinity Point Church of God, 180 West Trinity Drive, Clarion, Pennsylvania, on April 15 and the Ag Heritage Building, 185 Franklin Farm Lane, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, on April 21.
The goal of the workshop is to help cow-calf producers make more confident, profitable bull selection decisions through science-based tools.
Attendees will learn how to interpret and apply expected progeny differences, analyze structural soundness and longevity and identify emerging herd health threats, like the impact of the Asian longhorned tick and Theileria orientalis.
The event is free. Interested parties must register for the event by 11:59 p.m. the night before.
