Estes Auctions sells vintage radio items

MEDINA, Ohio — Estes Auctions of Medina, Ohio, held a vintage radio auction Jan. 19, bringing bidders from Shanghai, China; Tokyo, Japan, Canada and 15 U.S. states.

Top-selling items included a Marconi 106B at $11,000, a McMurdo Silver Masterpiece at $6,800. and a Neumann microphone at $12,000.

Additional items were a Western Electric 300B tube, that went for $1,800, a Western Electric 274 tube at $500, a Motorola FX-111 for $2,700 and a Bud rack with receivers sold for $2,400.

A bidder paid $3,700 for a Sperry SP-4 bomb sight, a Neutrowound sold for $500 and an Atwater Kent model 10 was sold at $725.

Estes Auctions will hold its next auction Feb. 16, which will feature a large collection from Centennial, Colo.
