TORONTO, Ohio — The Bareshoe Wranglers met recently with 13 members present. The meeting was led by Frank Mayer.

The Buddy Walk for charity, Oct. 4, was discussed, and the bonfire party Oct. 26 from 3 to 6 p.m. was planned.

The next meeting will be Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. at the joint vocational school.

BURTON, Ohio — The following members of the Geauga Caprine Kids 4-H club earned recognition at this year’s county fair.

Kristen Peschke — First place novice cart, first place senior pack goat, fourth place market duck and third place rabbit meat pen.

Hannah Taylor — Second place senior showmanship (4-H and open), second in rate of gain and grand champion market goat.

Sam Sharpnack — Fourth place novice swine showmanship, first place in market class.

Louis Sharpnack — Member of the 4-H royal court.

Bill Ketring — Fourth place showmanship sweepstakes, first place senior showmanship, first place showman of showmen, reserve champion market goat and Daniel Moodie Scholarship recipient.

Sarah Anderson — First place in intermediate goat showmanship, second place showman of showmen.

Gavin McElroy — First place in beginner fancy poultry showmanship and first place in the bantam feather legged class.

MIDDLEFIELD, Ohio — The Auburn Dairymen had another good year at the Geauga County Fair.

In the Intermediate Showmanship Class Evan Parker placed second and Nick Kiedaisch placed fifth.

In the Junior Showmanship Class Becky Parker placed fifth. In the Beginner Showmanship Class Steve Turon placed first and Lauren Parker placed second.

In the Showman of Showman class Katherine Kiedaisch placed third and Steve Turon placed sixth.

In the Junior Division, Lauren Parker took first in the Spring Heifer class while Morgan Barres took fourth.

In the Winter Heifer class Morgan Barres took third. In the Summer Yearling class Morgan Barres took first. In the Spring Heifer class Jeremy Ryan took first.

In the Winter Heifer class Evan Parker took first, Jeremy Ryan took second and Becky Parker took sixth.

In the Fall Yearling class Morgan Barres took third. In the Junior Champion class Jeremy Ryan won Junior Champion with Katherine Kiedaisch on halter and Evan Parker won Reserve.

In the Senior Division Morgan Barres placed fourth with her Senior 2-year-old.

In the 3-year-old and under 4 in milk class Jeremy Ryan took first and Evan Parker took second. In the Aged Dry cow class Jeremy Ryan took first place.

The Auburn Dairymen would like to congratulate the winners on the senior division Jake Lausin, Senior Champion and Brie Carr, Reserve Senior Champion.

Jake and Brie won Grand Champion and Reserve Champion respectively.

Supreme Champion of All Breeds was won by Jake Lausin with his Aged Holstein in milk.

The Auburn Dairymen would like to thank The Farm Bureau for purchasing their 2008 Indians theme cheese basket.

The club had a fair follow up meeting at Kiedaish’s to discuss plans for next year.
