Kirtland quilts show featured at Lake MetroParks Farmpark

KIRTLAND, Ohio – The 19th annual Quilts 2010 show will be featured at Lake Metroparks Farmpark, 8800 Euclid Chardon Rd., Feb. 12 through March 24.

The show is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

At the quilt show, guests can find more than 225 quilted works from featured artists and regional quilters at the visitors center. Visitors can also vote on the People’s Choice Award for their favorite hand-made and machine-made quilts.

Featured artists

Hariett Hargrave of Arvada, CO, and Marti Michell of Atlanta, Georgia, are two featured artists at the quilt show. Hargrave hails from a family of quilters and mastered machine embroidery in the 1970s. She taught machine piecing, applique, and quilting in the adult education system before opening her own store. Hargrave’s workshops are scheduled from March 9-14.

Michell’s enthusiasm for quilting spreads across her roles as teacher, quilter, author, publisher, manufacturer, designer, consultant, judge, and quilt collector. Since 1995, the Michells have manufactured the From Marti Michell line of acrylic templates and specialty rulers for rotary cutting.

Michell’s workshops are scheduled March 19-21.

Quilt vendor weekend. Quilt Vendor Weekend runs March 6 and 7. Guest can find unique shopping opportunities under one roof.

Admission. Admission to Quilts 2010 is $6 for adults, $5 for adults 60 and over, and $4 for children 2 to 11.

Farmpark members and children 2 and under are admittedfree. Admission includes all daily attractions.
