Hello from Hazard!

It was another busy week in Hazard-land, as we got a slew of responses to Item No. 845. As we said last week, it’s a device used to cut kernels off an ear of sweet corn.

The following readers missed the initial deadline, but they were still right on the money with their guesses:

Jim McClain of Steubenville, Ohio; Heidi Allison of Highlandtown Lake, Ohio; Richard Lesho of Geneva, Ohio; Roger Rhoads of Mentor, Ohio; Randy Winland of Prospect, Ohio; Ron McConnell of Brookville, Pa.; Andy Tumicki of Eighty Four, Pa.; Francis Curley Musser of Warren, Ohio; Howard Baker of Cortland, Ohio; Clyde Clark of Warren, Ohio; Beverly Christen of Irondale, Ohio; Leta Brant of Mantua, Ohio; and Dorothy Sherman of Beaver Falls, Pa.

* * *

We didn’t get much response on Item No. 846 and the responses we did get weren’t quite right. So here it is again. Take a good look and send us your best guess.
