The Richfield Town Trust is sponsoring its 9th Annual Historic Home and Garden Tour on Saturday, June 13, 2015, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are $10, and tickets purchased the day of the event are $12. A boxed lunch may be ordered in advance for an additional $6. Lunches will include a croissant sandwich — choice of ham, turkey or vegetarian — coleslaw, fruit, chips, dessert and drink.
The tour will begin at the Richfield United Church of Christ Fellowship Hall at 4340 W. Streetsboro Road (note new starting location for tour) where participants will pick up their program/ticket for the event. Complimentary beverages and cookies will be available throughout the day at the church. Participants are advised to wear comfortable shoes (no spiked heels are allowed in the homes). No children under age 12 are allowed on the tour, and it is not wheelchair accessible. The event will be held “rain or shine.” In addition to the homes on the tour, the Historical Museum of Richfield will be open that day for visitors to enjoy as will a number of local businesses. To purchase advance tickets and lunch, if desired, send appropriate payment — $10 for tour ticket and $6 for boxed lunch (check made payable to “Richfield Town Trust”), along with a stamped, self-addressed envelope, to Historic Home & Garden Tour, Richfield Town Trust, 4300 W. Streetsboro Road, Richfield, OH 44286. If ordering lunch, be sure to indicate choice of sandwich as detailed above. The deadline for advance ticket sales and purchase of lunch (must be pre-ordered) is June 8. Advance tickets are also available at Countryside Florist, Richfield Auto and ScripType Publishing. They may also be purchased via PayPal (a service fee will be applied) through the Richfield Historical Society’s website www.richfieldohiohistoricalsociety.org.
An “old-fashioned” plant swap/sale will also be held the day of the tour, 11 a.m. to sellout, in the church parking lot. Individuals may bring perennial plants or houseplants (divided or cuttings) in waterproof containers. All plants must be identified and labeled accordingly. For those who don’t have anything to “swap,” plants will be available for purchase at nominal cost.
The Richfield Town Trust is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. All proceeds from the tour will be used to help advance the goals and objectives of the Trust which include helping to make the West Center of Richfield a hub of community life and activity while maintaining the area’s charming and historic character.
