Salem Parks and Recreation and Salem Public Library are pleased to host a “Go Wild in the Park” series program, “Birds of Prey”, to be presented by Heather Merritt of Birds in Flight Sanctuary of Warren, Ohio. The program will take place on August 16, 2017, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Waterworth Memorial Park, pavilion #9. The park is located at 8th and East School Streets in Salem, Ohio.

The presentation will feature live birds and the discussion will focus on licenses and environmental hazards that humans cause that threaten the health of birds such as owls, hawks and falcons.

Registration is required for this program which is open to the public and free of cost to attend and may be completed online at www.salem.lib.oh.us, by calling Salem Public Library at 330-332-0042 or by calling Shane Franks at 330-332-5512.

Birds in Flight Sanctuary began in 1991 for wildlife rescue and now rescues thousands of animals from 17 counties in Ohio. Through education, they hope to bring the amazing workings of our wildlife to you. Starting our 26th year of wildlife rescue we are glad to announce many fundraisers and dreams for the future of our wildlife.

“Go Wild in the Park” series programs are provided to the public through the partnership of Salem Public Library and Salem Parks and Recreation Department.
