“Options Equal Opportunities” is this year’s grazing conference theme. Keynote speaker is Kathy Voth who will teach you how to get your cattle to eat those pesky pasture weeds that you think have no value and should be gotten rid of. Check out her website at www.livestockforlandscapes.com.

Warren Thomas will eagerly share his journey from the suburbs to becoming a successful full-time farmer in Venango County, raising grass fed lamb, pumpkins and fall decorations.
Steve Casto is a livestock producer and marketing specialist from West Virginia, who backgrounds beef stocker cattle on pasture. His presentation will cover all aspects of stocker production from buying to utilizing pasture for maximum gains to taking advantage of the best markets.

Jim Gillis is a biologist with NRCS. He will provide details about USDA programs that are available to help offset the costs of building a grazing system and at the same time enhance wildlife habitat and the natural aesthetics of your farm.

We expect a full slate of vendors on-site who will be available to sell or discuss their products and services.

The cost is $40 per person and includes a hot buffet lunch. Seats fill quickly so register early. Conference information can be downloaded from the Headwaters RC&D website at www.headwaterspa.org, or by calling 814-503-8653. Registrations can be made online or mailed with fee payable to Headwaters RC&D Council, Attn: Brittany Dittemore, 109 N. Brady St. 2nd floor, DuBois, PA 15801.
