Kiko Auctioneers and Realtors of Canton, Ohio, held the seventh annual machinery and consignment auction Feb. 21 at Witmer’s Inc. of Columbiana, Ohio.
The sale was conducted by auctioneers Rusty, Randall and Rudy Kiko. More than 600 registered bidders attended.
The top-selling item was a John Deere 5425 with loader, MFWD for $40,000.
Other highlights included a John Deere 5420 w/MFWD and loader for $29,000; a Case 580 super L backhoe for $24,000; a John Deere 2955 no cab, 2 WD for $15,000; a White 2-135 MFWD for $10,750; Dixie Chopper lawn mower for $8,000; a John Deere 338 baler for $6,850; an antique Ford 901 diesel with 2-row MTD corn picker for $4,100 and two Bale King wagons at $2,600 each.
Rocco’s Auctions and Appraisals of McKean, Pa., held an auction Feb. 21 in Erie, Pa., with 143 registered bidders.
The highest-selling item was a Super Flo engine dynamometer for $31,000.
Other top sellers included a Super Flo chassis dyno for $9,500; a Matco tool box for $3,200 and a 10-hp air compressor for $3,100.
One item that brought in more than expected was a 2006 Roadmaster trailer which sold for $2,300.
Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company Inc. of Columbia City, Ind., held a farm equipment auction for Davis Hay and Straw, Inc. in London, Ohio, Feb. 23. Auctioneer Nick Cummings called the sale with 224 registered bidders.
The top-selling item was a Massey Ferguson 8480 MFWD Dyna-Step tractor which sold for $85,000.
Other top sellers included a Massey Ferguson 1843 S baler for $38,000; an Agco 8775 tractor w/ 1884 loader for $32,500; a Timpte 75 hopper trailer for $27,000; a Timpte 73 hopper trailer for $26,500; a John Deere 4440 tractor for $16,000 and an Agco 6690 loader tractor for $15,750.
The Three Rivers Auction Company of Washington, Pa., held its quarterly premier auction Feb. 22, with Tripp Kline calling the sale. There were 262 in-house bidders and 380 Internet bidders.
The highest selling item was an oil painting by Malcolm Parcell titled Man on Horseback which sold for $8,000.
Other top-selling items included another oil painting by Parcell titled Gale Snow which brought $7,500; a cast metal figural garden fountain sold for $3,800; a Colt single action Army revolver-Peacemaker sold for $2,500 and a Handel bamboo-style lamp brought $1,800.
According to Kline, two items that sold for more than originally thought included a RS Prussia portrait plate for $300 and a ladies platinum wedding band for $1,650.
The lot of hand sketches by John W. Beatty, the first art director for the Carnegie Institute in Pittsburgh, sold for $2,300.
