Forestry Association hands out awards

CANFIELD, Ohio – The Northeastern Ohio Forestry Association honored members at its 25th annual banquet April 30 at the Canfield Methodist Church.

Carl Kirkbride Jr. earned the Outstanding Woodlot Owner award for his work in timber stand improvement, tree planting, vine control, serve road construction and maintenance, wildlife habitat development and timber harvests.

Richard Berg was recognized with the Distinguished Service award for all his service to NEOFA. Berg is currently the second vice president of the organization.

The annual auction consisted of members’ donations and items from local businesses. The proceeds provide youth scholarships to the state forestry camp at Camp Muskingum in Carroll County June 13-18.
