Mercer County bull takes top prize at 2008 Pennsylvania Farm Show

HARRISBURG, Pa. – Supreme champion beef winners were named Jan. 7 at the 2008 Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg, Pa.
The grand champion Shorthorn female, CSC Sonny Girl 296 ET, exhibited by Sara Campbell of Sycamore, Greene County, took the supreme champion female.
The supreme champion bull went to the grand champion Angus bull, Rains Grid Dream, owned by Dale Rains of Mercer, Mercer County.
Eight beef breeds including Angus, Hereford, Limousin, Maine-Anjou, Mainetainer, Red Angus, Shorthorn and Simmental were evaluated by three judges: Bob Goble of Alto, Minn.; Cody Lowderman of Macomb, Ill.; and Dr. Thomas B. Turner of Columbus, Ohio.
