PENINSULA, Ohio — The Countryside Conservancy is offering a four-session course for beginning or hopeful farmers this spring.

Exploring the Small Farm Dream will take participants through the process of setting personal and farming goals, assessing available resources, determining if farming as a business is right for you, and developing an action plan.

The class will meet four Mondays from 6-9 p.m. at the Boston Store, 1548 Boston Mills Road, Boston Township. Class dates are March 23, April 6, April 20 and May 4.

Course instructor, Janet Hahn, is co-owner/operator of Hahn Family Farm, a 55-acre diversified organic farm in Garrettsville, Ohio. In addition, Hahn Family Farm has operated a community-support agriculture outlet, an onfarm market, and participated in off-site farmers’ markets.

Registration is $150 for one individual; $250 for two people working on the same business idea. Fee includes a workbook and additional handout materials. Class size is limited to 12 businesses.
