Coshocton juniors earn dairy honors

COSHOCTON, Ohio – The Holstein, Brown Swiss and Jersey breeds dominated the Coshocton County junior fair dairy show, although other breeds shown were Ayrshire, Guernsey and Milking Shorthorn.

Neil Duncan showed the grand champion Holstein cow. He also had the junior champion Holstein.

Rick Lahmers had the reserve grand champion Holstein.

Neil’s brother, Drew, won the Holstein junior champion trophy and Emily Hothem showed the reserve junior champion.

Rick Lahmers had the grand champion and reserve grand champion Brown Swiss. He also had the junior champion Brown Swiss. Cherish Cunningham had the reserve junior champion Brown Swiss.

In the Jersey show, Lynn McMullen had the senior champion. Crystal Raber had the junior and grand champion Jersey, while Todd Lahmers had the reserve junior and reserve grand champion.

Other breeds. In the Ayrshire category, Ashley Pritchard had the reserve senior and grand champion, while Neil Duncan had reserve grand champion. Neil Duncan had the junior champion; Ashley Pritchard, reserve junior champion.

Tiffany Zimmerman showed the junior champion and grand champion Guernsey, while Tyler Zimmerman showed the reserve junior and reserve grand champion.

For Milking Shorthorns, Allyssa McMullen showed the junior senior and grand champion; Suzannah McMullen showed the reserve grand champion.

Showmanship. Senior showmanship winners were Tyler Zimmerman, Emily Hothem, Carrie Sheldon, Crystal Raber, and Travis Sheldon.

Topping the junior class was Seth Cunningham, Drew Duncan, Cody Carnes, Allyssa McMullen, and Todd Lahmers. First-year showmen were Brandon Cunningham, Ryan Powell, and Tiffany Zimmerman.

Supreme showmanship awards went to Neil Duncan, Rick Lahmers, Cherish Cunningham, Tyler Zimmerman, and Seth Cunningham. Oldtimers showmanship winners were Brad Cunningham, Maureen Pritchard, Brian Powell, and Richard Hothem.
