Estes Auctions holds vintage radio auction

BURBANK, Ohio — Estes Auctions radio sale offered a variety of radio items, and more than 100 bidders from 18 states, Canada, Europe and absentee came to bid on items Jan. 18.

Sold

Highlights included a Tresco one tube receiver that sold for $29,000 a Marconi magnetic detector that went for $15,500 and a Marconi 106 D receiver that was bought for $6,500.

A Marconi spark coil sold for $5,000; a Westinghouse SE-1012 went for $4,750 and an Atwater Kent model 5 sold for $3,300.

A Universal spark coil went for a bid of $3,000, a Western Electric BC-32A sold for $2,900 and a Marconi phone RP7 was bought for $4,100.

Other items

A Grebe CRT-3 sold at $2,250, a Marconi SWT unit went for $1,750 and a wireless specialty IP sold for $1,800. A Westinghouse Signal Corp receiver went for a bid of $2,000, a wireless specialty IP 501-A sold for $1,900.

The next sale is Feb. 22.
