Howard J. Manypenny, 84, of North Benton, Ohio, passed away at 9:07 a.m. Aug. 27 at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.

He was born Nov. 18, 1924, in North Benton to John F. and Mable L. (Rose) Manypenny.

Manypenny was a graduate of Berlin High School in Berlin Center and was a farmer all his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during World War II, and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 76 of Sebring and the VFW Post No. 2799 in New Springfield.

Survivors include his daughter, Brenda Lee Criss of Salem; his son, Rev. Kenneth Manypenny of Beaver Falls, Pa.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a sister, Jennie Halczak of Diamond, Ohio.

Manypenny was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Randy Manypenny; and brothers, Donald, Ralph, and Thomas.

Interment will be at Hartzell Cemetery in North Benton.
