OBERLIN, Ohio — FFA Week at Firelands High School was a success this year. It started Feb. 18. There wasn’t school that day, but the FFA chapter went to the church in South Amherst where they played basketball and ate pizza.

Tuesday included barnyard olympics. During lunch periods in the gym, kids could come down and test their strength by seeing how far they could throw the straw bale; there was also tug of war, hillbilly golf and tractor races.

Wednesday was all about the teachers. Some of the FFA students came in at 6:30 a.m. to make breakfast for the teachers.

Thursday was Driver your Tractor to School Day. There were so many tractors, they filled up the entire back row of the parking lot.

FFA week came to an end on Friday with the petting zoo, including piglets, puppies, goats, ducks, rabbits, a calf, a horse, a draft pony and a dog.

Throughout the day, there were many visitors, including the morning and afternoon kindergarten classes; first- through fourth-grade classes came, as well.
