Ingredients:
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 tsp. steak seasoning salt
- 1 large egg, beaten
- ¼ cup Italian breadcrumbs
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 4 burger buns
- ½ cup tomato sauce
- 16 slices pepperoni
Directions:
- Preheat grill on high with the lid closed for 10 to 15 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, mix ground beef, salt, egg, breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese by hand until just combined. Separate into four equally sized patties; do not overwork the meat.
- Open the lid and reduce grill temperature to medium. Place patties on the grill and close the lid for 5 minutes.
- Microwave tomato sauce, covered with food wrap in a microwave-safe bowl, for 30 seconds.
- Flip patties and top with mozzarella cheese. Cook for another 3 to 5 minutes, to desired meat temperature.
- Place burger buns cut-side-down on grill and lightly toast. Remove the patties from grill.
- Spread warm tomato sauce on the burger buns and top patties with four pepperoni slices each. Serve immediately.
