Archery courses for all levels
CHARDON, Ohio — Geauga Park District is offering beginner archery courses in August and September for children and adults at Chickagami Park, 17957 Tavern Road, Parkman Township in Ohio. First-timers will learn the basics of target archery, including safety and technique, at an outdoor range using Geauga Park District equipment.
Program offerings will include Introduction to Archery for Families on Aug. 30 from 9:30-11 a.m., designed for families with children ages 9 and up, and two Introduction to Archery for Adults programs, held on Sept. 19 from 10:30 a.m. to noon and Sept. 24 from 2:30-4 p.m.
Attendance at one of these programs is a prerequisite for all of the district’s other archery programs. These programs include Archery Games for Kids on Aug. 30 from 1-2:30 p.m. for kids ages 9 to 16 and Archery Games for Adults on Aug. 22 from 2:30-4 p.m. or Sept. 24 from 12:30-2 p.m.
Participants will get to practice techniques to improve their aim while competing against fellow archers. Interested parties should arrive 15 minutes early for a walk through of the range.
