Although there was not actually a Civil War battle at Beaver Creek State Park, many from our area joined the effort to preserve the Union. Confederate General John Hunt Morgan and his troops did continue their raid into Columbiana County until surrendering near West Point, Ohio in July of 1863. The weekend of September 10 and 11 over 100 Civil War Confederate and Federal re-enactors will be encamped on the banks of beautiful Beaver Creek. Through battles, interactive presentations, and conversations, they will educate children and adults about the war and the soldiers’ lives 155 years ago.
Join us as battles in the Pioneer Village area of the park ( 12013 Echo Dell Road, East Liverpool) will occur at 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. Spectators may visit the encampments and witness the military maneuvers beginning at 10 a.m. each day. Also free to the public will be a Civil War themed ball/barn dance at 6:30 p.m. Saturday as well as a non-denominational church service at 10 Sunday morning. There will be sutlers selling Civil War period items and concessions will be served through out Saturday by the Friends of Beaver Creek State Park in the barn pavilion. The pioneer village buildings will be open throughout the 2 day event.
