Explore a time period when cartographers were mapping the world and mariners were discovering new landmasses. Join us and take an imaginative journey through time as Salem Public Library hosts the program “Age of Exploration” on May 25, 2017 beginning at 6:30pm as part of the ongoing series “Live from Anywhere”. Instructors from the Mariners’ Museum of Newport News, Virginia will lead discussions about the economic, cultural life, and other factors that accelerated the exploration of the Old World. Learn too about the lives of the sailors and explorers who left their families and risked their lives to sail the seas.This program will be held in the library’s Quaker Room located at 821 E. State St., Salem, OH 44460. Attendance is open to the public and free of cost.
