The Friends of Crowell Hilaka (FoCH) invite you to a free family-friendly presentation on “Injured and Orphaned Wildlife: What to Know and What to Do” on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 7:00 p.m., at the Richfield Fellowship Hall, located at 3903 Broadview Road, Richfield, Ohio 44286.
Joseph Ferrara, Customer Service Assistant for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife’s District Three headquarters (which is situated in Akron and covers 19 northeast Ohio counties) will talk about wild animals being a common sight in Ohio and how in the spring, young wildlife emerge into our world. He’ll discuss how well-meaning people sometimes do more harm than good by trying to help these creatures that just might not need help at all. Did you know, for instance, that cottontail rabbits leave their young unattended all day and only return at dawn and dusk to feed them? Mr. Ferrara will explain how human intervention isn’t always the answer where nature is concerned. Join FoCH and Mr. Ferrara on March 15 to learn more about how to respond to seemingly injured or orphaned wildlife and what you can do to help keep the wild in wildlife. There will be a very brief FoCH membership meeting prior to the presentation.
FoCH is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization comprised of individuals who are committed to helping preserve and enhance the 336 acre Crowell Hilaka property (“Ohio’s Hidden Treasure”) by supporting the efforts of the Richfield Joint Recreation District.
