The USDA continues to offer farmers and businesses located in rural areas the opportunity to apply for a 2016 Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) grant to assist these for-profit entities in funding solar energy projects. An informational session on the details of who may apply for this grant along with an overview of how solar systems really work in our region will be presented at the Mill Creek MetroParks Farm in Canfield on Wednesday, March 24 from 6:45-8:30 p.m. Relevant case studies will be discussed to include a farm application and a small business installation. Other topics on the agenda include an update on federal tax incentives for solar energy production.
