BLAIRSVILLE, Pa. — The Penn State Extension Dairy Team and regional dairy industry businesses are holding a southwest Pennsylvania Regional Dairy Day March 9 at the Chestnut Ridge Conference Center in Blairsville. Featuring a trade show, speakers and a panel discussion, the event will bring the most up-to-date information to dairy producers and dairy industry professionals.
Topics to be discussed
- Managing Forage for Efficiency and Digestibility, presented by Ev Thomas, Oak Point Agronomics
- Veterinary Update on Animal Care, presented by Dr. Daniel Zawisza, White Oak Veterinary Clinic
- Robotic Milking Systems and Other Automated Technologies, a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Charles Gardner, DVM, Consultant with Pennsylvania Center for Dairy Excellence

The trade show begins at 8:45 a.m., and educational presentations begin at 10 a.m., concluding at 2:30 p.m. There is no fee to attend the event, but pre-registration is needed by March 4. Lunch is included with registration. Tickets will be distributed by local agribusinesses or are available by calling the Indiana County Extension office at 724-465-3880.
