Do you want to get outdoors to exercise but would enjoy it more in a group setting? Would you prefer an exercise routine that is beneficial in many ways yet is low-impact, requires little space and no equipment to perform? If you answered these questions with a “YES” then Salem Public Library has just the exercise program for you. Beginning Tuesday, June 6, 2017, from 9-10 am “Tai Ji in the Park” returns with classes to meet on 12 consecutive Tuesdays (except for no class on July 4) to be taught by Master Doug Nybell of Crystal Dragon Karate in Columbiana, Ohio. The classes will be held in Salem’s Centennial Park at pavilion #2 (behind the tennis courts and near the wooden playground).

Regular Tai Ji practice provides a variety of positive benefits to health including but not limited to: improvement in muscle and tendon strength, balance, flexibility and also increased coordination, lung capacity, and stress reduction.

This exercise series for adults is open to the public and free of cost to attend. No special clothing is required, just dress in loose-fitting clothing that permits comfortable movement. Registration is required for each class and may be done online at www.salem.lib.oh.us or by calling the library at 330-332-0042 for registration assistance. The class will meet at the Salem Memorial Building in the event of rain on any of the class dates.

Master Nybell, owner and instructor at The Crystal Dragon Family Martial Arts Center, LLC, which was founded in 1978, teaches Goshin Jutsu Karate, Aiki Jutsu and Jujutsu as well as Tai Ji.
