“Dancing Mindfulness: Holiday Edition” is the fun topic for the December 14, 2016 Wellness Wednesday program to be presented in the library’s Quaker Room at 6:30pm by Ramona Skrillko. Dancing Mindfulness is a fun way to practice mindfulness through combining music and movement. It is a “come as you are” practice that does not require any previous experience with dance, yoga, or meditation and is suitable for every body. By practicing the mindfulness attitude of non-judgement, participants can feel empowered to express themselves in whatever way feels right for them. There are no steps to learn and no complicated routines to follow. If you like to dance while no one is watching, or at least would like to try, or if seated mindfulness practices make you feel fidgety, then Dancing Mindfulness is for you!
Registration is required online at www.salem.lib.oh.us or by calling the library at 330-332-0042. The program is open to the public and free of cost to attend.
Ramona Skrillko has loved to move her body ever since she was a little girl and has taken classes in various forms of dance, as well as yoga and meditation. When she discovered Dancing Mindfulness, she found it an irresistible combination of mind, body and spirit brought together to encourage healing and self-acceptance. She received her Dancing Mindfulness facilitator certification in 2013 and is eager to help others find their inner joy and power through this shared practice.
A licensed professional counselor and self-professed geek girl, Ramona lives in Poland, Ohio with her astronomer husband, John, and two troublesome but adorable cats named Trick and Treat.
