WASHINGTON, Pa. – As part of Ag Days at the Washington Mall, the Washington County Cattlemen’s Association will again sponsor its old-fashioned apple pie contest March 22.
The event is open to youth, men and women. The contest features a junior division for entrants up to age 21 and a senior division for ages 22 and older.
Pies should be entered in non-returnable glass plates.
Judged pies will be auctioned to raise money for the Advanced Education Support Grant that defrays post-secondary education costs for recipients. The cattlemen’s association awarded three scholarships at its annual banquet last October.
Pies should be entered at the association’s booth at the center of the mall from noon to 2 p.m. March 22. Judging begins at 2 p.m.
The sale of champions starts at 5:30 p.m.
