HANOVERTON, Ohio — The Hicks & Hayseeds 4-H club from Hanoverton used a “superstar” theme to build their silent auction basket for this year’s county fair.

For the past year, members have been writing letters to stars in the entertainment, business and sports worlds asking for donations. Club members have written 60 letters and have received donations from 12 individuals, including a Cleveland Browns football autographed by Jordan Norwood; a Last Man Standing script autographed by Tim Allen; a Mongoose Motorsports Fast Five T-shirt and a replica of the Fast Five Roadster autographed by the car maker, Gary Krause; four one-day, park hopper passes to Disney World, and other items.

Silent auction bidding on this and other baskets ends Aug. 4 at 9:30 p.m. Proceeds from the auction go to help the county 4-H program.
