Mahoning River Consortium seeks public input on watershed plan

WARREN, Ohio – There will be a forum regarding the Mahoning River watershed action plan Nov. 20 in Girard, Ohio.

The forum will be at Girard High School’s auditorium located at 31 N. Ward Ave., 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The project is aimed to improve water quality in the 1,133-square-mile river basin.

The plan development includes the following six-step process recommended by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency: develop public support; create a watershed inventory; define the problem; set goals and develop solutions; create an action plan; and implement and evaluate.

To submit a stakeholder survey form, call Scott Martin at 330-941-3026 or attend the monthly meetings of the Mahoning River Consortium the third Friday of each month at the Kent State University Trumbull campus, Room 120, 4317 Mahoning Ave., Warren, 1-3 p.m.
