Youth show winners in Stark County

CANTON, Ohio – Mitchell Ramsey and Paul Snyder were presented 10-year awards during the Stark County Fair junior dairy show. The awards recognize the years both have participated in dairy projects.
Five-year awards were presented to Amanda Shockling and Daniel Yoder.
Sarah Yoder received the Outstanding Junior Fair Dairy Project award in the senior division. Bobby Skolosh received the honor in the intermediate division and Elizabeth Berstler earned the junior division award.
TLC Award. The 4-H dairy TLC Award, presented to a first-year dairy 4-H’er, went to Johnnie Speicher.
The award, presented by the Jim Indorf family, is given in the memory of Lola Brennenman.
Showmanship. Mitchell Ramsey also won the champion of champions dairy showmanship award, with reserve honors going to Sarah Yoder, who won the senior showmanship division.
Other showmanship winners included: Adam Ramsey, intermediate; Hanna Skolosh, junior; and Logan Skolosh, first-year.
Dairy shows. Brittany Schulz showed both the junior champion and reserve junior champion Ayrshires in the junior fair dairy show.
In the Brown Swiss show, Lisa Sutton’s winter calf won junior champion honors and Amanda Shockling’s winter yearling took reserve junior champion honors.
Allison Haas showed the junior champion Jersey, her winter calf, and Shem Haas showed the reserve junior champion Jersey.
CoraLee Daniel showed the junior champion Holstein, a fall heifer calf, and Adam Ramsey showed the reserve junior champion Holstein, a winter yearling.
In the cow classes, Brittany Schulz also showed the grand and reserve champion Ayrshires.
Lisa Sutton showed the grand champion Brown Swiss, with reserve honors going to Amanda Shockling. Isaac Rummell showed the grand and reserve champion Jerseys.
Lauren Hohman showed the grand champion Holstein and Ed Weisgarber showed the reserve champion.
