Hardin County Fairgrounds rebuilds after tornado damage
Despite a destructive March tornado, the Hardin County Fair will return Sept. 8-13. Recovery is underway to host the vital community and youth 4-H event.
Woman charged in deaths of horses at former Pure Gold Stables
Heather J. Birkmire, of Lisbon, Ohio, was charged with five counts of cruelty to animals and four counts of violating rules governing the disposition of dead or destroyed animals.
The charges follow an investigation that began last fall at the stables after a farrier discovered a gruesome scene: the skeletal remains of four horses locked inside a round pen.
