Beth Burger, Jenny Crabtree and Ron Dean were recently inducted into the Ohio State Fair Hall of Fame, joining more than 200 others who have made outstanding contributions toward making the Ohio State Fair.

The late Herbert L. Stryffeler of Butler Township will be enshrined in the Columbiana County Agriculture Hall of Fame during a ceremony Aug. 4. Stryffeler brought modern milking tech to Columbiana County as the founder of Stryffeler Dairy Service. His daughter recalled how he kept a 24/7 open-door policy at his home, allowing neighboring farmers to come into his basement shop at any hour to pick up spare parts and leave handwritten notes so their operations wouldn't grind to a halt.
