Has your family discussed the future of your farm? The "Planning for the Future of Your Farm" series can help you develop a farm succession plan.

The West Virginia Department of Agriculture in conjunction with West Virginia University Extension Service has announced two grant writing workshops.

The Lady Landlord workshop will cover the risks of leasing, verbal versus written leases, nuts and bolts of a lease, communicating with a tenant, negotiation process and skills.

The fee is $20 per person with a registration deadline of Jan. 11.

Workshops will focus on key areas where producers can cut input costs and improve production efficiencies and dairy income.

"Success Score Card — Benchmarking for Profit" and "Planning for the Future of Your Farm" will be held at the Ashtabula County Extension office, 39 Wall St., Jefferson, this winter.
