SALEM, Ohio — Twenty-one members of the Goshen Good Growers 4-H club met July 7 at Bunker Hill Church.

 
Five members gave demonstrations: Logan Frantz described the cuts of meat from a pig; Chloe and Colton Dennison explained the different types of bunnies; Savannah Ruthrauff demonstrated various hand stitches; and Conner Ruthruaff described the six dairy breeds.

 
The next meeting is Aug. 4.

NAVARRE, Ohio — The Green Valley 4-H club met recently. During the business meeting, members voted to use Mason jars for the buyers’ gifts at the fair livestock auction.

 
The Fairless Food Cupboard food collection was a success, netting several grocery carts filled with food and goods along with monetary donations.

 
The advisers discussed the cancellation of all poultry shows, exhibits and sales, due to avian influenza.

 
Members who fared well in the Stark County Clothing/Style Show and Extravaganza include: Blue ribbon, state winner, and 100% Award: Annabelle Ehmer for scrapbooking and Mitchell Waugh for Solid Fuel Rocketry; Master blue ribbon and 100% Award: Emma Fisher for Measuring Up, Level 1; Blue ribbon, county ribbon and 100% Award: Sophie Comfort for dog obedience project; blue ribbon and state winner: Shanti West for sundresses and jumpers; Alison Waugh for self determined and Matt Wentling for Let’s Start Cooking; Blue ribbon and county ribbon: Sullivan Kennedy for vegetable gardening; blue ribbon: Cassia Comfort for Sew Fun; Sullivan Kennedy for Measuring Up, Level 1; and Reed Robinson for Beekeeping and Safe Use of Guns; Red ribbon: Mitchell Waugh for Creative Writing for Teens; and Olivia Waugh for Creative Writing for Teens.
