Loghurst to host series of candlelight tours

CANFIELD – Candlelight tours of Loghurst, the oldest log house in the Western Reserve, will begin April 26. Tours begin each day at 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

April 26. Local textiles historian Virginia Draa will discuss a variety of fabrics and their uses throughout the 19th and 20th century using examples from her own collection.

May 24. H. William Lawson, director of the Mahoning Valley Historical Society, shares his insights on the history of the steel industry in the Mahoning Valley and offers perspective on what this history means to local residents.

June 28. Donna DeBlasio from YSU talks about the history of the Underground Railroad in Ohio at the site of one of its stations.

Admission is $10 for all three tours in advance, or $5 at the door. Call 330-533-4330 to reserve your space. Refreshments are provided. Speakers are subject to change.
