Summer roundup heads to Wood County

MARYSVILLE, Ohio – The Ohio Cattlemen’s Association Summer Roundup is July 14 in Wood County.

Tour stops include the Nichols Farm, J Bar A Herefords, Calvin Gerwin and Sons, Bill J. Bowling Farm, Larry and Becky Warns and Tom Dierksheide. Featured speakers include U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur, and Ohio State researchers Francis Fluharty and Henry Zerby.

The cattlemen’s association will host an open membership meeting at 3 p.m. July 13 at the Wood County Fairgrounds to discuss current beef industry issues and marketing opportunities.

The meeting will be followed by a free cookout at 6 p.m. and a fun night of casino games, refreshments, prizes and entertainment.

Reservations are required to attend the summer roundup. Friday night activities are free but you must make a reservation.

To attend the tour and the dinner July 14, the cost is $35 for OCA members and $40 for nonmembers. To attend just the tour, the cost is $25 per person. To attend just the steak dinner and evening entertainment the cost is $15 per person.

Tickets must be purchased by June 29.
