Wiles case granted June jury trial

by Andrea Zippay

WOOSTER, Ohio – Ken Wiles sat in a Wayne County courtroom for more than an hour March 15, but left without facing Judge Stuart Miller.

Wiles was accompanied by his son, Joe, and an employee, Dusty Stroud, for a pre-trial conference at the courthouse in downtown Wooster.

Roughly 20 other farmers attended the court date to see what would pan out for the hog farm owner and employees accused of animal cruelty.

Ken Wiles’ attorney, Russell Buzzelli, said the accused have been granted a trial by jury.

Ken and Joe Wiles and Dusty Stroud are scheduled to appear before Miller and a jury June 19.
