Sour Cream Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 cup sour cream

Directions:

  1. Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in butter with a pastry blender or two knives. Add eggs and sour cream gradually. Chill dough at least 2 hours or longer.
  2. Roll out; cut with cookie cutters and bake in hot oven at 425 F until set and barely golden on bottom, not brown, about 5 minutes.
  3. Cool on rack completely.
