Ingredients:
- 1 orange, juice and grated zest
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 6 cups flour, sifted
- 1 cup chopped nuts
Ingredients for icing:
- 1 orange
- 1 tbsp. butter
- 1 lb. powdered sugar
Directions:
- Cream butter and sugar. Stir soda and baking powder with flour and add to creamed mixture alternating with buttermilk. Stir in orange juice and zest and nuts.
- Drop from teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 F, 12 to 15 minutes.
- Mix icing ingredients until smooth. Put on while cookies are still warm.
