BBQ Hot Dog Skewers
Yield: 8 Servings

Ingredients:

  • 8 hot dogs or kielbasi links
  • 1 small red onion
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 3 cups pineapple
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp. ketchup
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. rice vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder

Directions:

  1. If using wooden skewers, make sure to soak them in water for at least 20 minutes before using.
  2. Slice hot dogs or links into quarters and cut red onion, green bell pepper, red bell pepper and pineapple into 1-inch pieces.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high. Thread the skewers: red pepper, green pepper, meat, onion and pineapple. Repeat this pattern until the skewer is full. Repeat for remaining skewers.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together BBQ sauce, ketchup, soy sauce, rice vinegar and chili powder until thoroughly combined.
  5. Oil the grill grates well, brush the sauce all over the skewers, and then grill the skewers, flipping every couple of minutes and basting with more sauce, until charred, about 8 minutes.
