Yield: 8 Servings
Ingredients:
- 8 hot dogs or kielbasi links
- 1 small red onion
- 1 green bell pepper
- 1 red bell pepper
- 3 cups pineapple
- 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
- 2 tbsp. ketchup
- 1 tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. rice vinegar
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
Directions:
- If using wooden skewers, make sure to soak them in water for at least 20 minutes before using.
- Slice hot dogs or links into quarters and cut red onion, green bell pepper, red bell pepper and pineapple into 1-inch pieces.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high. Thread the skewers: red pepper, green pepper, meat, onion and pineapple. Repeat this pattern until the skewer is full. Repeat for remaining skewers.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together BBQ sauce, ketchup, soy sauce, rice vinegar and chili powder until thoroughly combined.
- Oil the grill grates well, brush the sauce all over the skewers, and then grill the skewers, flipping every couple of minutes and basting with more sauce, until charred, about 8 minutes.
