At Ag Encounter 2001, held Oct. 11 at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds, students visited stations centered around livestock, crops and soils, food safety and production and learned where their food comes from.
“We’re all hoping they take a little something home with them today and share that with their families. These are all teachable moments. If they realize today that milk doesn’t come from the supermarket, than our job is done,” said Dick Kind, a Lawrence County dairy farmer and event planner.
