LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Angus exhibitors led 279 entries at the 2002 North American International Livestock Exposition (NAILE) Angus Super Point Roll of Victory Angus Show and 2003 National Angus Show.
The event took place in conjunction with the annual meeting of the American Angus Association, Nov. 18-19 in Louisville, Ky.
Randy Daniel, Colbert, Ga., lead judge, and Frank Jackson, Bentonville, Ark., associate judge, evaluated 204 females, 72 bulls and three cow-calf pairs.
Ohio winner. In the female show, Champion Hill Lady 2185 captured the grand champion banner. Champion Hill, Bidwell, Ohio, and Fox Cross Farm, Alderson, W.Va., own the September 2000 daughter of Leachman Saugahatchee 3000C that first topped the senior division.
Courtenay DeHoff, Tonganoxie, Kan., claimed reserve grand champion female honors with Sedgwicks Queen Mother 3444. The January 2001 daughter of SVF Gdar 216 LTD first won junior champion.
Sedgwicks Lass 5810 claimed grand champion cow-calf pair. The September 2000 daughter of McCumber 124 Traveler 212 has a February 2002 heifer calf by Dalebanks Extender 6012 at side.
Fox Cross Farm, Alderson, W.Va.; Casey Blew, Mount Hope, Kan.; and McCurry Brothers, Sedgwick, Kan., own the winning pair.
Champion Hill, Bidwell, Ohio, and Dobson Pulpwood Farm, Campti, La., showed the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Champion Hill Georgina 2121 is a July 2000 daughter of S A F Bando 5175. An April 2002 daughter of B C C Bushwacker 41-93 is at side.
Local champions. In the show of 204 heifers, Megan Weisel of Louisville, Ohio, showed the spring heifer calf champion, Dell’s Lady Lilo 2030.
The reserve spring heifer calf champion was Champion Hill PEG 2878, exhibited by Fox Cross Farm, Alderson, W.V., and Champion Hill of Bidwell, Ohio.
Intermediate champion heifer was Champion Hill Georgina 2608, shown by Eric King of Tiffin, Ohio.
The spring bull calf champion, R S F F Corona 2029, was exhibited by Megan Weisel.
The best six head was exhibited by Champion Hill.
Bull show. Holly Gamble, Clinton, Tenn., led the grand champion bull, Gambles Hot Rod. The May 2001 son of Famous 7001 first topped the intermediate division.
Roth C A F United 3481, a March 2001 son of Roths Millcreek Unique, captured the reserve grand champion bull title. Beth Patton, Crawfordsville, Ind.; Roth Angus, Freeman, S.D.; and DeWayne Costin, Greencastle, Ind., own the bull that first won junior champion.
