BELLEVUE, Ohio — The week of Aug. 10 started the most busy time of the year. It’s fair week.

The Bellevue FFA not only supports the students that participate in showing livestock, we also operate the Porkchop Stand.

Over the course of the week students will sign up for shifts and serve anything from hot dogs to pig wings! The chapter loves working the Porkchop Stand and meeting the new members that participate! The Bellevue chapter is also very dedicated to their livestock, which is how Bellevue had five participants in Showman of Showmen. Tara Eisenhower, Tricia Schoen, Sarah Hunker, Alycin Fooce, and Shaina Dean were all selected to compete in the event in which Sarah Hunker received first place and Tricia Schoen received third place.

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Ross County Farm Bureau held their 96th annual meeting in the Sunroom at the Brick in Frankfort Aug. 28. Five members from the Zane Trace FFA chapter traveled there to attend. Kevin Daubenmire, Karlee Daubenmire, Ashley McCullough, Olivia Pflaumer, and Taylor Stacy were the five FFA members.

The students had the opportunity to eat a lot of food, meet new people, and hear about some of the current issues in the agriculture industry.

At the end of the evening’s business session the students helped to distribute the door prizes to attendees who were selected as winners.

All of the members had a great time and are excited to attend next year’s meeting.
