NORTH BENTON, Ohio — Village Varieties 4-H club met for their annual pizza party and election of officers. New officers include: president, Cathy McCracken; vice president, Kearstin Rummel; secretary, Aliza Hatton; assistant secretary, Ashley Pinkerton; treasurer, Lizzy McClung; news reporter, Krista Burca; assistant news reporter, Brandon Metts; health officer, Tommy Kemp; safety officer, Kennedy Close; devotions officer, Alexis Pierce; demonstration officer, Cole Chumney; recreation officer, Emmy McCracken; and refreshments officer, Miranda Crick.
On Nov. 14 the club rang bells for the Salvation Army at the Sebring gazebo. They also went caroling to the residents of the Auburn Skilled Nursing in Damascus Dec. 5.

NORTH BENTON, Ohio — Four members of Western Reserve Rangers 4-H Club made pillowcase style dresses to send to the Dominican Republic in 2016. Members included: Evelyn Collier, Bailey Hornberger, Emma Reph and Olivia Reph. In early December Mahoning County 4-H Queen Shannon Marshburn and 4-H King Scott Erb participated in the Youngstown, Columbiana and the Salem Christmas Parades. Shannon, a club member, will compete in the Miss Ohio State Fair Contest in January.

On Jan. 14, the club will have their first meeting of the year at 7 p.m. at the Ellsworth Fire Hall. Youth and parents wanting to learn more about the 4-H Club Program in Mahoning County are encouraged to attend this meeting.
