Kelso House Lyceum Series begins Jan. 4

BRIMFIELD, Ohio – The Kelso House Lyceum 2002 Series begins Jan. 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Heritage Room of the Kelso House, 4158 state Route 43 in Brimfield.

Edgar McCormick, Brimfield historian and emeritus professor of English at Kent State University, will talk about his latest book, “Yesterday’s Scholars.”

It is the account of his academic life from undergraduate work until retirement, filled with stories and descriptions of his friends and colleagues and of the times and the places where he studied and taught.

The book also tells about the founding of the Brimfield Memorial House Association and the saving of the Kelso House.

All lyceum lectures are free and open to the public. They take place on the first Friday of January, February, March and April. Refreshments will be served.
