National horse show returns to Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The 64th annual Pennsylvania National Horse Show is set to return to the Pennsylvania State Farm Show Arena in Harrisburg Oct. 8-17.

The Pennsylvania National Horse Show features hunter-jumper equestrian competition. The show attracts the nation’s top horses and riders each year.

Junior Weekend

As is tradition, Junior Weekend, Oct. 8-11, will begin the show with the Adequan/USEF National Junior Jumper Championship and the Pessoa/USEF Hunter Seat Equitation Medal Finals as highlights.

The Grand Prix de Penn National, Oct. 17, is the grand finale of the show with a full schedule of hunter and jumper competition in between, including North American League, Show Jumping Hall of Fame Series classes and the popular Pennsylvania Big Jump.

New this year

New this year will be the Amateur-Owner Hunter 3-foot 3-inch division and the NAL Low Junior Amateur/Owner Jumper Final.

Special exhibitions taking place at the show include Western Night Oct. 14, which will include barrel racing, pole bending and celebrity team penning.

Carriage racing is scheduled for the horse show’s final four nights.

More than 50 specialty stores offer shopping for Pennsylvania National Horse Show memorabilia, fine arts, gifts, accessories and much more.

The show benefits the Harrisburg Kiwanis Youth Foundation and the Pennsylvania National Horse Show Foundation, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation.
