Ohio Agro Bio-Security office is open

REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio – The new Agro Bio-Security office at the Ohio Department of Agriculture will develop, coordinate and implement security procedures to be used in the event of an emergency. Priorities of the office include streamlining operations, identifying and analyzing vulnerabilities, implementing bio-security protocols and addressing campus homeland security issues. It will also coordinate and implement training exercises.
The office will represent the department at the Ohio Strategic Analysis and Information Center, an intelligence gathering system for the entire state.
Manager. Anthony Mitchell, Agro Bio-Security manager, will be responsible for preparing the agency for bio-security emergencies and will also address homeland security issues. He is the department’s contact for ag terrorism issues and coordinates efforts with local, state, and federal agencies.
