Ohio corn stocks down from one year ago

EYNOLDSBURG, Ohio – Ohio corn stocks in all positions Dec. 1, 2005, totaled 403.9 million bushels, 4 percent below the 422 million bushels stored Dec. 1, 2004.
On-farm stocks, at 255 million bushels, decreased 7 percent from the 275 million bushels Dec. 1, 2004. On-farm stocks account for 63 percent of the total stored.
Off-farm stocks increased 1 percent from a year ago to 149 million bushels.
Ohio soybeans. Ohio soybean stocks in all positions totaled 156.8 million bushels Dec. 1, 2005, up 4 percent from the previous December.
Off-farm storage accounted for 38 percent of total storage, same as December last year. Off-farm stocks at 59.8 million bushels are 5 percent above the 56.8 million bushels on hand Dec. 1, 2004.
On-farm stocks at 97 million bushels are up 3 percent from the 94 million bushels stored on farms at the same time last year.
Ohio wheat. All wheat stored in Ohio as of Dec. 1, 2005, totaled 66.5 million bushels, up 18 percent from 2004.
Off-farm stocks, at 63.9 million bushels, are up 16 percent from last year and account for 96 percent of total stocks. Off-farm stocks were up 100 percent from Dec. 1, 2004.
U.S. corn. U.S. corn stocks in all positions Dec. 1, 2005, totaled 9.81 billion bushels, up 4 percent from Dec. 1, 2004.
Of the total stocks, 6.33 billion bushels are stored on farms, up 3 percent from a year earlier. Off-farm stocks, at 3.49 billion bushels, are up 5 percent from a year ago.
The September-November 2005 indicated disappearance is 3.41 billion bushels, compared with 3.31 billion bushels during the same period last year.
U.S. soybeans. U.S. soybeans stored in all positions Dec. 1, 2005, totaled 2.50 billion bushels, up 9 percent from Dec. 1, 2004.
Soybean stocks stored on farms totaled 1.35 billion bushels, up 3 percent from a year ago. Off-farm stocks, at 1.16 billion bushels, are up 15 percent from last December.
Indicated disappearance for September-November 2005 totaled 840 million bushels, down 10 percent from the same period a year earlier.
U.S. wheat. U.S. wheat stored in all positions Dec. 1, 2005, totaled 1.43 billion bushels, down slightly from a year ago. On-farm stocks are estimated at 513 million bushels, down 3 percent from last December. Off-farm stocks, at 917 million bushels, are up 2 percent from a year ago.
The September-November 2005 indicated disappearance is 494 million bushels, down 3 percent from the same period a year earlier.
