HIRAM, Ohio – Mackenzie Creamery was honored with two first-place awards, one second-place award and two best of show awards at the annual National Cheese Competition sponsored this year by the American Dairy Goat Association.
The two-day event was held in Fort Collins, Colo., Oct. 16-17 and was open to both commercial and amateur cheesemakers.
Mackenzie Creamery, located in Hiram, Ohio, is the second licensed goat cheese producer in the state.
Jean Mackenzie, owner and head cheesemaker, took her training through the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture.
