Ohio State Fair searches for youth musicians, vocalists

COLUMBUS – The Ohio State Fair is on the lookout for musically talented Ohio high school students, grades 9-11, to apply for membership in the 2002 All-Ohio State Fair Band and All-Ohio State Fair Youth Choir.

Best of the best. The All-Ohio State Fair Band and Youth Choir are featured attractions at the Ohio State Fair every year. Each group is comprised of more than 200 of Ohio’s finest high school musicians.

Participation in the All-Ohio State Fair Band and Youth Choir is a unique musical and social experience. The 21-day stay offers an opportunity to perform music of varied styles and periods, as well as working with a staff of top-notch music educators from throughout Ohio.

Application process. Interested high school students may obtain an application from their local school band or choir directors, or may write directly to: Donald F. Santa Emma, director All-Ohio State Fair Band 2676 Country Club Blvd., Cleveland OH 44116-4894.

Deadline. Applications for both groups must be submitted by March 31.

The 2002 Ohio State Fair will run Aug. 2-18.
