COLUMBUS – On May 16, 99 lambs were delivered to the OSU Sheep Center to compete in the Ohio State Fair Performance Tested Market Lamb Contest.

These lambs came from flocks located in Florida, Michigan, West Virginia, and Ohio; and included representatives of down breeds, wool breeds, and hair sheep.

After a two-week adjustment period the lambs were weighed to obtain their official starting weights which ranged from 62 to 129 pounds.

July 28 has been set up as a public preview date for producers wishing to evaluate the lambs prior to the official harvest date.
